Plant Production Manager

Main responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the candidate will have overall responsibility for the production site and its operational processes as a key member of the Management Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all safety activities of the plant to achieve the goal of 100% safety, establishing and enforcing a safe environment and meeting safety regulations;
  • Ensuring to meet production targets, quality standards and budget requirements;
  • Implementing and monitoring lean management methods and continuous improvement processes by deploying the necessary toolkit from lean and six sigma;
  • Responsibility for strategic and operational planning and implementation of projects to increase efficiency and reduce costs;
  • Collaboration with other departments such as sales, purchasing, engineering and quality assurance to optimize production processes;
  • Implementing, monitoring and analysing production metrics (KPIs) such as output, quality, first pass yield, OTD (On-Time Delivery), scrap rate and safety performance, deriving necessary actions to meet the plant’s financial plans;
  • Ensuring 100% customer satisfaction by meeting needs related to lead time, on-time delivery, and product quality;
  • Managing operations in accordance with Group‘s strategy;
  • Leading, motivating, and developing his team.

Candidate profile

  • Engineering degree, ideally with a focus on production engineering or casting/mechanical engineering;
  • Several years of professional experience in a comparable position in a manufacturing company, preferably in the metalworking industry;
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in managing large teams;
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with lean management methods (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM);
  • High level of methods competence and the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions;
  • Analytical thinking skills and the ability to recognize and manage complex interrelationships;
  • Excellent communication skills in Italian language and English;
  • Assertiveness, resilience, and a hands-on mentality;
  • Proven ability to drive cultural change and accompany a transformation process and experience in successfully driving lean projects;
  • Ability to set clear objectives for oneself and the team, demonstrating an energetic, passionate and disciplined style as a change manager.
